Even though Washington lost their season opener against Auburn, they remain No. 10 in the current AP Top 25. The Huskies will have a difficult time reaching the College Football Playoff with their blemished record, but a second Pac-12 title in the past three years is still a very real possibility for Chris Petersen’s crew.
That conference quest begins this weekend when Washington heads to Salt Lake City. There, the Huskies will take to the field at Rice-Eccles Stadium to square off against Pac-12 South contender Utah. The Utes are currently 2-0, but they have yet to face a Power Five opponent this season. Even so, Kyle Whittingham’s team has positioned itself alongside Colorado and Arizona State as the teams to watch in the division this year.
Washington enters the contest as a five-point favorite on the road, but there is no guarantee that the Huskies are going to return to Seattle with a conference win in their pocket.
