Mississippi State got an easy win against Louisiana-Lafayette in a warmup game before entering SEC play. The Ragin’ Cajuns never came close to an upset.

Mississippi State dominated every facet of the game and beat Louisiana-Lafayette 56-10 on Saturday night. Entering the weekend, the Bulldogs were ranked No. 16 in the country, but they should move up after winning a game they were supposed to win.

The Bulldogs are now 3-0 as they enter conference play next weekend at Kentucky. They have a lot of momentum from their nonconference schedule, especially on offense.

Louisiana-Lafayette falls to 1-1 this season with the loss. They won their first game of the season against Grambling State 49-17 at home.

The game quickly became a blowout by the second quarter, and Mississippi State had a 35-3 lead entering halftime. In the second half, it was more of the same as Mississippi State outscored Louisiana-Lafayette 21-7 with most of their reserves gettings some game experience.

Even though this may have been an easy win for the Bulldogs, here are three major takeaways from the game.
