1. Nick Fitzgerald is underrated

Fitzgerald is an underrated quarterback, and he played very well tonight and dominated in nearly every facet of the game. He finished the game with 243 passing yards and 107 rushing yards.

He scored six touchdowns, including four rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns. He is leading one of the best offenses in the country, which looked extra effective against Louisiana Lafayette.

What makes Fitzgerald special is his running ability. The commentators on ESPN2 were drawing comparisons to Tim Tebow. The Bulldogs really do have the luxury of having a quarterback that can run the ball like a running back. Still, comparing him to one of the greatest college quarterbacks of all time may be a stretch at this point.

Of course, Louisiana-Lafayette is not an elite opponent, but Fitzpatrick will have plenty of opportunities to prove himself against more challenging competition. Mississippi State will play LSU, Auburn, and Alabama later in the season.
