2. Dwayne Haskins can be Meyer’s best quarterback since Tim Tebow

Urban Meyer has fielded some high-powered offenses throughout his time with Ohio State and Florida. The quarterbacks over his decade-plus of coaching have won Heisman Trophies and National Championships, but they’ve been predominantly dangerous with their legs more so than with their arms.

Haskins has the total package. He’s no statue in the pocket, but he’s not being asked to run as much as his predecessors. That might be because Meyer and offensive coordinator Ryan Day know what kind of weapon they have at quarterback.

Meyer’s suspension has kept him away from the games, but he’s still coaching practices and scheming for games. If he wanted to force the quarterback runs, he could. But he’s not, and that’s opened up the door for Haskins to show off.

Haskins completed 24 of 38 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns. The TCU defense made him work for every yard, but he dazzled when the Buckeyes needed him most.
