USC football got shellacked by the Texas Longhorns on the road. The ugly performance sent shockwaves through the Trojan fanbase, and it should.

The USC Trojans were completely outclassed by the Texas Longhorns on the road and under the lights Saturday night. The Trojans took their second straight loss, losing 37-14. Coming into the game as slight underdogs, few expected the absolute one-sidedness of the primetime affair.

USC started well, but Texas took a two-point lead to halftime. It all came apart in the second half for the Trojans. Texas was dominant in the last 30 minutes of the game, imposing their will on a beleaguered Trojan team. No matter what they tried, Texas had an answer, pulling away from their opponents and slowly running up the score.

USC is a far cry from the last two years when they won the Rose Bowl to conclude the 2016 season and winning the Pac-12 championship last season. Perhaps they can turn it around, but for now here are three takeaways from the game against the Longhorns.
