Defensive Line
Their defensive line stopped the run throughout the game, limiting Louisiana to only 65 total rushing yards. Louisiana’s leading rusher Trey Ragas finished the game with 49 yards on seven carries, and no other player rushed for more than nine total yards.
The defensive line also got some pressure in the backfield with multiple tackles for loss and one sack. The defensive line did their job and made things difficult for Louisiana quarterback Andre Nunez.
Grade: A
Linebacker
Tim Washington and Leo Lewis led the team in tackles and each had at least one tackle for loss. Also, Willie Gay Jr. had a sack and three tackles in the game as well. They played a major role in limiting Louisiana to only 10 points while allowing everyone to contribute and get playing experience.
Grade: A-
Secondary
Johnathan Abram did have one interception, and Cameron Dantzler and Mark McLaurin had seven and five tackles in the game respectively. They were able to slow down the passing game and limit Louisiana to only a few big plays throughout the game.
Still, Nunez did manage to throw for 224 yards and ccompleted21 of 29 passes, but his QBR was only 30.6 in comparison to Fitzgerald’s 97.3 rating.
