Texas A&M Football: 5 Overreactions from sloppy win over ULM
By Shelbie Warr
4. The Aggies get an A+ for depth at wide receiver.
Texas A&M fans were anything but excited when Christian Kirk declared for the draft at the end of the 2017 season. They were even more upset that Kendrick Rogers, the star wideout against Clemson, was out versus ULM. He should be back against Alabama, but that isn’t official.
However, his injury allowed other Aggie receivers to have their time to shine. Kirk leaving gave Rogers that ability- as well as Ausbon. We saw more of Camron Buckley, Quartney Davis and Roshauud Paul as well as a healthy dose of tight end Jace Sternberger against Clemson and even more so against ULM.
These Aggies are showing depth at a wealth of positions, but the wideout position more so than anything. Kirk declaring for the draft may have actually been one of the best things to happen to Texas A&M., though many would say that is crazy talk. Kirk got to find an NFL home in his hometown and the Aggies are finally forced to spread the ball out, making this offense ten times more lethal and much less predictable- which is always a win.
