Texas A&M Football: 5 Overreactions from sloppy win over ULM
By Shelbie Warr
1. The Aggies won’t let the rankings go to their heads.
This team in the past few seasons has been anything but consistent, or at least consistently good. If consistent is counted just because you collapse in November every season, then yeah the Aggies have been super consistent year in and year out.
However, that isn’t at all what those faithful fans want at all. It isn’t what the boosters wanted either, which is evident in the firing of Kevin Sumlin- who is now 1-2 at Arizona so far this season- and the hiring of Jimbo Fisher. Fisher has changed this program for the better, as is shown by the way his team has played. Part of that comes from the way that he talks to his team. An example is shown below.
From what I have seen from the Aggies this season, I am so far convinced that if this team pushes out of the rankings it won’t be because they got too confident and didn’t give their all week in and week out. Sumlin preached a one week at a time mentality to the media, but it never seemed like the team bought into it. This team has truly bought into Jimbo Fisher and his staff.
It may not happen this season, but the Aggies are going big places with Jimbo Fisher at the helm, there is no question about that.
