Week 4 of the college football season is upon us. Here are five reasons to be excited about the next slate of games as the season rolls along.

The 2018 college football season keeps on rolling as we enter week 4 on Thursday night with the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes facing off against the Temple Owls. It seems as though college football scheduling, or maybe ESPN, has abandoned marquee Thursday night matchups due to the NFL’s market grab on the same night.

Friday night, however, has two really fun showdowns. The FAU Owls head north to Orlando to face the Central Florida Knights, while Mike Leach’s Cougars head south to take on reeling USC. Saturday doesn’t have the heaviest slate of big time matchups but there are a few good ones.

Will Grier‘s Mountaineers will face off against the Kansas State defense in a game that could squash his Heisman Trophy campaign. There’s a strong western bias to the weekend with big Pac-12 matchups like Wazzou and USC, Arizona State and Washington, and Stanford and Oregon on ABC at primetime. TCU and Texas should make for a great game as well.

However, I believe the weekend hinges in Tuscaloosa as Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide host Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Here are the five reasons fans should be excited for week 4 of the 2018 college football season.
