Saturday 3:30-6:00

Texas A&M at Alabama, 3:30 p.m. EST, CBS

I’ll preface this by saying that until Alabama looks anywhere near mortal, we have no reason to think any game will be close. With that said, Texas A&M surprised us before, nearly beating Clemson in Week 2, and in general, the Aggies have looked solid thus far. I think Alabama is probably going to win this game by a billion points, but Texas A&M is one of the better teams on the schedule for Alabama, so we might as well watch it.

One sentence sell: Jimbo Fisher being at Texas A&M makes this one interesting, if only for a quarter or a half.

NIU at Florida State, 3:30 p.m. EST, ESPNU

If you thought last week’s loss to Syracuse was bottoming out for this Florida State program, I’ve got just the game for you! Northern Illinois has an awesome defense led by lineman Sutton Smith, and having watched Florida State’s offensive line for three weeks, I can only imagine the awful things he’s going to do to this offense in this game.

One sentence sell: Here’s your upset bid of the week, and honestly, I think NIU might blow the Seminoles out.

TCU at Texas, 4:30 p.m. EST, FOX

I’m super interested to see what TCU looks like bouncing back from their loss to Ohio State last week, and I think I may be even more interested to see what this Texas defense looks like against TCU’s speed. I don’t think the Longhorns defense as it was last year, so I’m excited to get a look at the new group against an elite offense with a ton of speed, even if I think TCU pulls away pretty easily.

One sentence sell: Texas isn’t back, but they’re pretty decent, and TCU is very good, so this is just a solid game between two interesting teams.
