Saturday 6:30-8:30

Texas Tech at Oklahoma State, 7:00 p.m. EST, FS1

Both teams are coming off of big wins, as Texas Tech beat Houston in a shootout, and Oklahoma State had one of the more impressive wins of the week, shutting down Boise State’s great offensive and putting a ton of points on their defense. That means that this is a prove-it game for both teams, and while I don’t see an upset, this will be a good test for the new and improved Oklahoma State defense.

One sentence sell: This one might devolve into a shootout, but Oklahoma State does seem to actually be good on defense this year, so I’m watching for that.

Stanford at Oregon, 8:00 p.m. EST, ESPN

This is the College Gameday game of the week, and while I don’t think I really agree with that decision, there really weren’t a ton of options, and it should be an interesting game. We haven’t seen anything from Oregon yet this year, but Stanford looks awesome so far, and they seem to be able to pass, so we’ll see how that looks against a good defense.

One sentence sell: The winner of this game becomes the second favorite for the Pac-12 North behind Washington.

Wisconsin at Iowa, 8:30 p.m. EST, FOX

Want to talk about a scary situation for Wisconsin? After coming into the season as heavy favorites to win the Big Ten West, hyped as the best offense in school history and a likely candidate to go undefeated, you now have to travel to Kinnick Stadium one week after getting socked in the mouth by BYU.

One sentence sell: Kinnick is terrifying at night, and Iowa looks awesome right now, so Wisconsin could very quickly be 2-2 to start the year.
