Iowa football and Wisconsin meet in Kinnick Stadium in a game with huge implications in the Big Ten West race. Here’s how some things will play out Saturday

It’s been evidently clear since the Big Ten divisions were split between the West and the East: Iowa and Wisconsin are the two best programs in the Big Ten West. Every year since the divisions were realigned in 2014, the West has been won three times by Wisconsin and once by Iowa. While the West has been continuously ridiculed as the worst division in Power Five college football, Iowa and Wisconsin have been the consistent programs that reign towards the top of the standings.

Most years, the battle for the Heartland Trophy occurs towards the end of the season where it usually has even greater implications on the Big Ten championship race. This year it just so happens to be the first conference game for both squads, which makes preparation even more frantic with limited tape to study. This game will definitely have excitement, more so on the defensive side of the ball.

However, it will be interesting from Wisconsin’s standpoint to see how they respond after their shocking defeat at the hands of BYU in Camp Randall last weekend. Iowa took care of in-state FCS foe Northern Iowa 38-14. Here are some of the big things that will happen on Saturday Night.
