West Virginia football looks to continue their quest for a Big 12 title after having their last game canceled by Hurricane Florence.

West Virginia was firing on all cylinders following blow out wins of Tennessee and Youngstown State and were looking to make another statement against a power five opponent in NC State. However, mother nature had other plans. The Mountaineers game versus NC State was canceled due to hurricane Florence.

West Virginia got the week off as it heads into conference play this week against Kansas State.

Kansas State is coming off of a 41-17 drubbing of UTSA to move to 2-1 on the season. The Wildcats have not looked good so far this season with a close win over South Dakota in week 1 and getting ran over by Mississippi State in week 2. Now they have to travel to Morgantown to face a fired up West Virginia team.

Here is everything you need to know.

Keys to Victory

West Virginia needs to get out to a fast start. It will only help Kansas State if the Mountaineers let them hang around early. The more that West Virginia can get ahead the better. Kansas State is not built to come from behind. They cannot allow Kansas State to play Synderball and slow the game down.

Will Grier needs to be able to use all of his weapons. West Virginia should come out throwing and force Kansas State to stop them. David Sills V and Marcus Simms should both have huge days.

Prediction

West Virginia will get off to fast start and jump out to a 14 point lead. Kansas State will do what Kansas State does and slow down the pace in second quarter and go into the half down by 10 27-17. In the second half the Mountaineers will speed up play and add some quick scores to David Sills V and Kansas state will not be able to keep up.

Final Score: West Virginia 41, Kansas State  23
