1. Boston College has a long way to go before contention talk

Coming into the game, Eagles fans had to feel good about the direction the program was headed after a 3-0 start to the season and there’s no reason for that optimism for disappear. However, expectations now need to be adjusted as the Boilermakers brought Boston College back down to earth.

Boston College was thought to be one of those dark-horse ACC title contenders, but they didn’t quite look like one against the Boilermakers.

The passing defense looked poor, especially on freshman Rondale Moore, but the run defense stepped up, so there were both positives and negatives from this loss. The defense isn’t bad, but there’s still room for improvement.

On offense, Anthony Brown didn’t look quite as solid under center and AJ Dillon, as previously mentioned, looked human for once.

The Eagles may not quite be on the ACC contender page and there’s still a ways to go, but they’re heading in the right direction.
