Oklahoma State football was in a first half shootout Saturday, but cooled down in the second half resulting in a lopsided Texas Tech victory.

Kliff Kingsbury and Mike Gundy are each wielding new weapons at their former position of quarterback. Both new signal-callers have been impressive, too. That continued on Saturday, however, with one putting some space between the two.

By halftime, Texas Tech freshman quarterback Alan Bowman had already completed 22-of-28 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns. At halftime! He spread the ball around, too, connecting with nine targets while terrorizing the Oklahoma State secondary. The Red Raiders were leading the Cowboys at the break, 24-17.

Gundy’s gunslinger, Taylor Cornelius, tallied similar numbers as Bowman in the first half, completing 14-of-24 passes for 229 yards and a score. The second half wasn’t as kind to the Cowboys, though, and the Red Raiders ripped off 20 straight points on their way to their first win in Stillwater since Kingsbury’s playing days.

The Cowboys came into the contest ranked No. 15, but will tumble after losing to the Red Raiders, 41-17. We’ve got three takeaways from their contest Saturday.
