5. Ian Book will finish the season as the starter

Ian Book went into this game and took firm control of the Notre Dame starting quarterback job. From the first drive you could tell that his accuracy and touch on passes could change the dynamics of the Fighting Irish offense.

Book accounted for five total touchdowns against Wake Forest. He finished the game 25-for-34 with 325 yards and two scores through the air, and contributed 10 carries for 43 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Ian Book also did a good job of spreading the ball around to the weapons on this Notre Dame offense, as 10 players finished the game with at least one catch.

His ability to scramble still makes him a similar threat to Wimbush, but getting the ball deep down the field won’t be a struggle for the Fighting Irish going forward.

The offense looked like a unit that could go toe to toe with the best defenses in the country, and while it is only a small sample size against a bottom-half ACC opponent, there’s no denying Book has the talent to take Notre Dame far.
