4. Jafar Armstrong is the X-factor on offense

Every great offense an X-factor. The dynamic player than can turn the tide with a single play, and swing the momentum for their team in a matter of seconds.

Jafar Armstrong is that player in the Notre Dame offense. He can be used as a receiver in the slot, or take a quick carry into a 30-40 yard gain if given space.

He made the Demon Deacons defense look silly all game long and could be the driving force behind Notre Dame going undefeated and making the playoffs. Armstrong ran the ball nine times for 98 yards and scored twice, while also catching two passes.

Outside of a poor outing in Week 1 against the Wolverines, Armstrong has been a consistent runner this season. Until the Week 4 contest against Wake Forest Armstrong had at least 10 carries per game, and is a good spell back for Tony Jones Jr.

Armstrong and the Fighting Irish take on Stanford next week, and the Cardinal are giving up just 123 yards per game on the ground this season, but were gashed by the Ducks’ CJ Verdell, who had 115 yards and a score in the Week 4 loss.

How will the Notre Dame rushing attack do with a dynamic player such as Armstrong in the backfield? Look for him to get around 80 yards on the ground but he will find the end zone.
