Ohio State football entered Week 4 looking to continue their momentum in Urban Meyer’s return. The Buckeyes started hot and rolled to an easy win.

Ohio State entered Week 4 coming off of a big victory over the TCU Horned Frogs in what was billed as a top 15 matchup. The Buckeyes ended up getting a major scare as they trailed by a point going into halftime.

A rally in the third quarter ultimately turned the tide for the Buckeyes and helped them escape Fort Worth with a much-needed victory.

With Urban Meyer’s suspension complete, the Buckeyes were not going to overlook the Greenwave. They turned in a decisive win and keep their college football playoff hopes alive.

The Urban Meyer circus won’t be an issue

Ohio State seemed to be engulfed in the Zach Smith scandal that almost cost Meyer his job this summer. It was ultimately proven that Meyer should not have been terminated with just cause, and a suspension for the first quarter of the season was given.

With Meyer back on the sidelines, it didn’t look like Ohio State missed a beat. They marched the ball down the field repeatedly and put up 42 points in the first.

The result of this excellent offensive outburst resulted in the starters being pulled at the end of the half, and the second unit saw some of the younger players on the team, and Tate Martell received playing time that will be important in bigger matchups that lie ahead.

The story may not go away all season long, but Ohio State’s players clearly aren’t letting it affect their play.
