1. MJ Devonshire, CB, 3-star

Aliquippa’s MJ Devonshire would be a great addition to the Mountaineers 2019 class. Although the Quips have a new head coach, WVU is familiar with the school; Kwantel Raines (2018 recruiting class) and Dravon Askew-Henry (2013 recruiting class) both played at Aliquippa.

Devonshire (three-star) is listed as a cornerback in his 247Sports recruiting profile, but could see a position change with WVU’s unique 3-3-5 look that deploys an extra safety. He’s been a stalwart at cornerback for the Quips, though, including his junior season when the defense didn’t surrender a single touchdown until the eighth game of the year.

The 5-foot-11 senior wreaks havoc on special teams, as well. Through the first two games, Devonshire scored returned four punts for touchdowns. Why are teams kicking to him? Your guess is as good as mine.

Through three games in 2018, WVU’s allowing only 185.3 passing yards and 12.3 points per game.

Adding another dynamic athlete to an already young-and-improving secondary would be a huge offseason victory for Holgorsen and the Mountaineers.
