Not much changed at the top of the Big Ten football power rankings, but some bad losses and big wins rearrange the middle of the pack.

If you were expecting some close games in the Big Ten Football Conference in Week 4, then you were probably disappointed. The winners of the eight games that took place won by an average of 28.5 points. Some of these blowouts were expected, such as Ohio State’s win over Tulane and Penn State’s win in their first conference game at Illinois. However, Rutgers scoring just 13 points versus Buffalo and Nebraska losing 56-10 to Michigan, were a little more surprising.

While the top four team remained the same, Iowa and Michigan State swapped places once again and Indiana, Minnesota and Maryland played leap frog with one another like they have been all season. Not much excitement was found in Week 4 but don’t expect the same this Saturday.

Purdue travels to Nebraska as they look to get within a game of .500. Al while Nebraska searches for their first win. And Northwestern hosts Michigan as they try to stir their season back into the right direction.

But the game of the week, and most likely the biggest game in the Big Ten this year, takes place in Week 5 as Ohio State travels to Penn State in a battle for the to spot in the Big Ten Power Rankings and the leading edge in the Big Ten East. In a battle of two high powered offenses, the Big Ten’s representative in the College Football Playoff could be determined this Saturday.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s checkout the update power rankings for the Big Ten Conference:
