Week 5 of the 2018 college football season should be an exciting week. Here are five reasons why you should tune in to the weekend slate.
Week 4 of the 2018 college football season is in our rear view mirror and we’re looking ahead to Week 5. During Week 4 we saw some big time upsets, a couple of overtime thrillers, and our star players prove why they’re Heisman Trophy candidates. Some of our hot seat coaches turned the burners down while others fueled their flames.
In week 5, there are two major matchups between elite programs as Ohio State travels to Penn State and Stanford travels to South Bend to face Notre Dame. Both of those showdowns should have College Football Playoff implications as well as possible Heisman race drama. But Week 5 kicks off on Thursday with the North Carolina Tar Heels traveling to Miami Gardens, Fla., to face the 16th-ranked Hurricanes.
On Friday, Memphis can show off their offense against a below average Tulane squad while Chip Kelly‘s struggling UCLA Bruins travel to Colorado to face the Buffaloes.
Oregon at Cal and BYU at Washington are still listed as to-be-determined for their start times on Saturday and both games feature a ranked program. The noon slate could be more interesting than we perceive as Syracuse is 4-0 and travels to 4-0 Clemson, and West Virginia and Will Grier travel to a ranked Texas Tech squad.
The Central Florida Knights try to remain undefeated for the second straight year as they host Pittsburgh at 3:30 p.m. ET.
At 4:30 p.m. ET Michigan travels to Northwestern and Evanston is always a tough road game. Utah at Washington State will be a sneaky good game at 6 p.m. ET on the Pac-12 Network that you won’t want to miss.
Just before primetime you have two 7:30 p.m. kick off times with Ohio State at Penn State and Stanford at Notre Dame on ABC and NBC, respectively.
