Miami football is hosting North Carolina in a Thursday night bout in the ACC. Will the Hurricanes be able to take care of business?

Following a tough Week 1 loss to a suddenly-hot LSU team, Miami has won three straight games, out-scoring opponents 157-41 since that opening defeat.

The Hurricanes have not only beaten three straight opponents, but they’ve been bullying everyone in their path since losing to LSU. Mark Richt has this team headed in the right direction and the offense should see an uptick in production thanks to a switch at quarterback — say hello to freshman sensation N’Kosi Perry.

North Carolina (1-2) comes to town on Thursday night for an early-season ACC battle and the Hurricanes could use a nice comfortable win heading into a tough stretch of games.

Will the Hurricanes take care of North Carolina to keep their ACC title hopes alive?

3. Travis Homer back-to-back 100-yard games

Finally breaking out of his slump a week ago, junior running back Travis Homer hit the century mark on the ground, averaging 8.8 yards per carry in the process.

It was Homer’s first 100-yard game since Nov. 11 of last season when the Hurricanes smacked Notre Dame, so it had to feel good to break that mark yet again. He had just 162 total yards through the first three games and hit 114 in the fourth against FIU.

That momentum will carry over into this one as Homer will record back-to-back 100-yard games for the first time in his career.

That 114-yard game looks nice, but he’s going to hit 130 on Thursday against the Tar Heels, making it look easy with 6.5 yards per touch.
