College Football Week 5 TV schedule: How to binge-watch
Thursday night
North Carolina at Miami, 8:00 p.m. EST, ESPN
It may not be pretty, because I’m not particularly sure if either team is any good, but this is best game on Thursday night, so it is worth watching. North Carolina is still without quite a few players that they suspended at the end of this season, and they just got their first win over a bad Pitt team last week, so this may not be close at all, but like I said, it’s the only option.
One sentence sell: Miami is breaking in a new quarterback, and it’ll be interesting to see him against what is ostensibly an ACC caliber defense.
Friday night
Princeton at Columbia, 6:00 p.m. EST, ESPNU
If you haven’t started watching the Ivy League yet, this would be a great introduction. The teams in the league have become well-known for their innovative offenses, and if you want to see what the next development to come to the FBS will be, there’s a good chance you can find it here.
One sentence sell: Both teams are 2-0, and Princeton is averaging more than 50 points a game, so this could be very pointsy.
UCLA at Colorado
If you’re willing to watch a game between a bad team and a pretty decent in Miami vs. North Carolina on Thursday night, this will probably interest you also. UCLA is dreadful and will be until Chip Kelly has a couple of recruiting classes on campus. Colorado, on the other hand, seems to be just fine, and Lavishka Shenault is worth the price of admission on his own.
One sentence sell: There’s nothing that indicates that this won’t be a blowout, so you might get to see UCLA players doing jumping jacks during this game again.
