LSU Football: 3 bold predictions for Ole Miss trip to Death Valley
By Shelbie Warr
LSU football plays host to the Ole Miss Rebels in the Magnolia Bowl this week as they look to continue on their hot streak. Let’s get bold, y’all.
It was this game last season that Jordan Ta’amu made his Ole Miss debut. An injury to Shea Patterson, who is now at Michigan, pushed him into the spotlight and he hasn’t left. At that point, LSU was sitting at No. 24 hoping to stay ranked, now they are undefeated as they sit at No. 5 with arguably the best resume in college football.
On the other side, the Rebels aren’t exactly having the season that they were planning on having. A struggling defense has caused game after game to be way more scary than they should be. They were demolished by Alabama a few weeks ago, but of course who hasn’t been.
What they don’t have excuses for however is their sloppy wins against Southern Illinois and Kent State. Yeah, I know a win is a win and all that, but it really isn’t when you are in the SEC. Those are games that the Land Sharks should have won by a landslide. They didn’t though.
The score of that Southern Illinois matchup would lean one to believe that it was all Ole Miss, but that wasn’t the case.
All in all, this year’s Magnolia Bowl is a battle between a good team and a struggling one. What could go wrong, right?
