LSU Football: 3 bold predictions for Ole Miss trip to Death Valley
By Shelbie Warr
2. Injuries on the LSU offensive line could doom Tigers
Ole Miss hasn’t had a very reliable defense this season and that is putting it mildly. However, could injuries to key starters for the Tigers leave an opening for the Land Sharks to make a serious play at the No. 5 team in the nation? I am not too convinced that it will be that big of a deal, but man who knows. I didn’t think LSU would be a threat this season and here we are.
Tigers starting left guard Garrett Brumfield is out, and starting tackles Saahdiq Charles and Adrian Magee are questionable for Saturday. Those are some pretty important positions for LSU to be down as they push into SEC play, but at the very least they get to do so against Ole Miss — a team that hasn’t exactly done what they set out to do so far this season.
Yes, the defense logged seven sacks against Kent State. But, honestly, so would most Power Five teams. The Golden Flashes are not good and yet, Ole Miss made this one a lot closer than anyone expected.
Will the LSU offensive starters being injured cause issues for the Tigers? Is it an opening for the Rebels to pull off an upset? We will have to wait and see.
