1. Clay Helton, USC Trojans

This is a decisive year for Helton and so far, the decision hasn’t swung in his favor. His team started the season ranked, but as the year continues on, they continue to fall farther and farther down the totem poll. After losing to the Texas Longhorns, a team no one truly understands, the Trojans fell out of the rankings and haven’t made a return trip since.

In his third official head coaching season at USC, Helton is 2-2 so far. Overall, he has a 29-12 record at the school he has been at in some capacity or another since 2010. However, that stint could come to an end very soon due to his recent performance and lack luster career against Pac-12 teams.

This week, the Trojans face off against another coach from my list: Kevin Sumlin and the Arizona Wildcats. In a must win game for both teams, this one is shaping up to be an exciting matchup.

As to who is going to win or who I am favoring, I don’t even know. I have learned to not try to make my picks in the Pac-12. That conference is confusing this season to say the least. What I do know is that the winner of this game will see his seat cool just a bit on Saturday night.
