Alabama football had an easy matchup against the Ragin’ Cajuns in Week 5 action. This game was, predictably, decided by halftime.
In a game that was decided by the end of the first quarter, Alabama football put in a dominant performance again Louisiana.
The surprising takeaway from this game was Jalen Hurts forgoing his opportunity at a redshirt season by playing in this game. How will his presence play out for the Crimson Tide the rest of the season? That will be the main question Alabama fans will be asking themselves as they enter the heart of their SEC schedule.
The first quarter saw Alabama put up 28 points rather quickly. The scoring started with a nine-yard touchdown run by Josh Jacobs, then Tua Tagovailoa threw a touchdown pass to put Bama’ up by two scores.
Jaylen Waddle returned a punt 63 yards to put the Crimson Tide up 21-0, and Jacobs picked up his second score of the day with a touchdown run from just inside the one-yard line.
The only concern in this game was the running defense for Alabama, as Trey Ragas ran for 111 yards on 16 carries and a score.
Tua did not have a major stat line but didn’t need one, finishing the game 8-8 with 128 yards passing and two touchdowns. Will he stay in the thick of the Heisman race with these weekly numbers?
As Alabama heads into their bye week the defense will have time to shore up the minor issues and get ready for their SEC matchup against Arkansas.
So that’s the quick summary of the Crimson Tide win over Louisiana. Was there anything else that stood out to you? Let’s get ready for all of the Week 6 action.
