Florida State Football: Deondre Francois saves Noles from disastrous start
By Dana Becker
Deondre Francois and Florida State football moved above the .500 mark with a 28-14 victory over Louisville, as Francois threw a career-high four touchdowns.
For a program familiar with winning and excellence, it has been a rough season in Tallahassee for new head coach Willie Taggart and the Seminoles. But maybe the ship is getting steered in the right direction after five games.
Francois completed 16 of 27 passes for just under 300 yards and the four touchdowns, and Nyqwan Murray had a season-high 114 yards receiving on six catches.
With just over a minute to play, Francois hit Murray on a 58-yard touchdown for the game-winning points, as Florida State showed heart by rallying from a 21-7 deficit.
It’s only one win, but after losses to Virginia Tech and Syracuse, along with tough wins over Samford and Northern Illinois at home, this was a welcome sight as the Seminoles enter “Miami Week.”
Florida State is now 3-2 and 1-2 in the ACC as they prepare for the Hurricanes on the road, with Louisville falling to 2-3 and 0-2 with a second consecutive loss.
Here are three takeaways from the win by the Seminoles on Saturday:
