Florida State Football: Deondre Francois saves Noles from disastrous start
By Dana Becker
FSU surrenders over 400 yards
The once-vaunted Florida State defense appears to be completely gone.
Sure, the Seminoles might lack the punch of years past on offense, but more troubling is the lack of playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. Heck, even just average guys to make the simple play are gone.
Louisville, which has struggled this year to move the ball and score points, had 421 yards and converted 10 of 19 third-down attempts. They picked up 24 first downs and held the ball for over 35 minutes.
Jawon Pass, who lost his starting job a few weeks back, completed 24 of 45 for 306 yards, and the Cardinals picked up another 115 yards on the ground.
Florida State was able to create three turnovers, which proved to be much-needed in this one to help with the rally from 21-7 down.
If the Seminoles are going to get back to respectability on the national scene, they will need to shore things up on the defensive side of the ball.
