Ohio State Football: Dwayne Haskins riled up over Penn State trash talk
If there’s one thing you don’t want to do as an athlete, it’s provide bulletin board material. Well, Ohio State football’s Dwayne Haskins is riled up.
Sports are funny. One second, you think you’ve found the strategy for beating an opponent and the next, it backfires on you. If you’re Penn State, you have to be slightly upset that Shareef Miller revealed that the Nittany Lions’ plan was to hit Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins a lot.
No, this is no secret strategy as every defense wants to get after opposing quarterbacks, but to say “we’re going to hit him and he’s going to fold” is probably not the best pre-game talk you want leaked to the press.
There’s a difference between stating a strategy and giving opponents some bulletin-board material heading into a big game.
Miller provided the latter to Haskins and the Buckeyes.

Not only is Miller’s statement ill-timed, but it’s also directed at the wrong guy as Haskins has arguably been the best quarterback in the country this season.
In fact, Haskins has passed for 1,194 yards, 16 touchdowns and just one pick with a 76 percent completion rate. This kid has been on fire, torching just about every defense in his path.
Penn State is getting set to host the red-hot Buckeyes on Saturday night and now Ohio State has a little extra motivation to get the job done — namely Haskins.
Did Penn State just poke the wrong lion or will the Nittany Lions win this battle of mental warfare? Grab your popcorn, ladies and gentlemen, Saturday night’s Big Ten bout will be one to watch.
