Is Texas football completely back? We still might not know for sure, but the Longhorns are definitely conference contenders again.

Texas snapped a five-game road losing streak beating Kansas State in Week 5 by a final score of 19-14 . Sam Ehlinger was efficient, D’Shawn Jamison returned a punt 90 yards for a score, and the Longhorns did just enough to make sure a 19-0 lead didn’t completely get erased.

After falling to Maryland in the season opener, Texas and Tom Herman have a four-game win streak. While for those historians of Longhorn football that might not sound like much, it is the longest since the 2013 season.

And now, Texas is set at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the league with the Red River Rivalry on tap next Saturday in Dallas.

Kansas State, which struggled mightily on offense days after head coach Bill Snyder surprised even members of his coaching staff by making a change at quarterback, heads to Baylor searching for its first league win.
