College Football Rankings 2018: Winners, losers from Week 6 AP Top 25
By Shelbie Warr
Winner: Florida Gators (Unranked to No. 22)
Florida has found it’s way back into the rankings after beating Mississippi State this week. Dan Mullen has taken this team and made them into a bit of a respectable SEC East team. Of course, they aren’t at Georgia’s level, but they are respectable enough and much of that is Dan Mullen. The only touchdown thrown by the Gators on Saturday was thrown by a receiver, so take that as you will.
This week, however, they host LSU who sits at No. 5 in the nation and is the dark Tiger if you will of the playoff race. If the Gators are serious about turning the train around in Gainesville, this game is the one to do it in.
Winner: Kentucky Wildcats (No. 17 up to No. 13)
This team has shocked the world and that is truly putting it mildly. I have constantly made the joke that the Wildcat faithful would soon be counting down to basketball season.
However, now they are counting spots that they continue to jump up in the rankings. Benny Snell said that he was the best running back in the SEC during media days and everyone laughed. Although now, he is showing the world that they may just be a true statement.
The Wildcats head to College Station in Week 6, looking to continue their undefeated streak as they face off against a daunting Aggie rush defense under Jimbo Fisher. As of right now, the Wildcats are a big time winner in terms of the AP Poll this week.
