Notre Dame Football headed into their matchup with Stanford looking to prove that they belonged in the top five. They made their statement, emphatically.

What a difference a quarterback change to make. With Brandon Wimbush calling the shots earlier in the season Notre Dame’s offense struggled and wasn’t viewed as a legitimate threat to get the ball down the field.

Ian Book was named the starter last week in the win against the Wake Forest and the offense put up 56 points. Beating up on the Wake Forest defense isn’t as tough as going up against a very good Stanford Cardinal defense and Book was up to the test.

Is Notre Dame a top-five team? The injury to Trevor Lawrence could decide where the Fighting Irish will sit in the polls, but Notre Dame fans will talk your ear off trying to explain why they should be ranked number one in the polls. They might not be wrong. So far the Irish have weatherd every storm and remain undefeated. That’s a good start to their College Football Playoff case.

Let’s take a look at the major overreactions or you will hear from fighting Irish fans this week.
