Ohio State football and Penn State faced off in one of the Big Ten’s biggest regular-season matchups. As expected, the game did not disappoint.

Both the No. 4 Ohio State and No. 9 Penn State entered the game undefeated and with high hopes of making the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions held the second and third longest win streaks in college football, of nine games and eight games, respectively (UCF holds the longest at 17 games).

The winner of this game knew they would take control of the Big Ten conference. Coming into the game, Ohio State had the second-best offense in the country with an average of 54.5 points per game. But of course, Penn State was one better, averaging 55.5 points per game.

However, despite these incredible offenses, we experienced a slow start to the football game with the score only 0-3 at the end of the first quarter, in favor of Penn State. By halftime, each team had scratched across just one touchdown, and Penn State, one more field goal for a score of 13-7.

In a game that came down to the wire, Ohio State came out on top, 27-26. Here are a few more things we learned from this clash of Big Ten powers.
