3. Washington can be dominant

As I mentioned earlier, and have touched on in several recaps this season for Washington, the Huskies have not always looked like a top ten team this season. They’ve let underpowered teams stick around for way too long, they’ve been unable to put up more than 30 points, and their passing attack has left plenty to be desired.

This game, however, was exactly what I wanted to see from Washington. The offense was electric, making big plays, moving efficiently, gobbling up yards both in the air and on the ground, and controlling the line of scrimmage all game long. They made a good BYU defense look helpless all game long, and Jake Browning looked as good as he has since Washington’s playoff run several years ago.

I don’t know if this is sustainable. There are lots of problems with this offense, from Browning’s hesitancy, to conservative play calling, to a lack of talent at receiver, but for one night, those weren’t an issue. If Browning can keep this up, the line can continue to dominate like they did tonight, and the running backs can provide explosive plays, this is a tough team to stop.

Throw in such a great defense, and a coach like Chris Petersen, and I really don’t see a Pac-12 team stopping their run to the playoff. With the South so down this year, and Stanford on their way to a loss against Notre Dame, it seems like Washington is pretty easily the best team in the conference, especially when they play like this.
