Iowa. Noah Fant. 29. player. 52. . TE

The key to a good tight end is one who can both block effectively and run routes. Sure, that’s obvious. But when you consider how teams scout their opponents, you will realize that teams who are required to have different players as blocking tight ends and receiving tight ends are much easier to defend. When there is a tight end who can do both, it forces opposing defenses to honor both the pass and the run.

Noah Fant, from Iowa, is the top tight end in this draft class. Fant is in his third year with the Hawkeyes and has proven his ability to block and make big plays downfield. In 2017, Fant found the endzone 11 times. He is averaging a touchdown a game so far this season.

At 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, Fant looks to be developing into a Rob Gronkowski kind of tight end. The Jaguars have not had a big name tight end who makes an impact on a game to game basis. Having a reliable tight end for Blake Bortles to pass to will continue to help the Jacksonville offense improve and keep them a playoff contender.
