In recent years, the month of October has been an interesting one to say the least for Dabo Swinney and Clemson football.

Two years ago, the Tigers survived close calls with Louisville, NC State and Florida State on their way to claiming the ACC title and eventually becoming national champions.

In 2017, Clemson was able to overcome a 27-24 loss to Syracuse to win another league title and reach the College Football Playoff semifinals before falling to Alabama.

What does the month of Halloween have in store for the Tigers this season?

Last week, Clemson announced plans to start freshman Trevor Lawrence and bench senior starter Kelly Bryant. Days later, Bryant said he would transfer and this past Saturday, Lawrence was knocked out in the first half vs. Syracuse.

Third-string quarterback Chase Brice came on inside a distraught Death Valley and, along with Travis Etienne‘s 203-yard rushing performance, led a 27-23 comeback to keep the Tigers unbeaten on the season.

Clemson will play just three games over the next four weeks, but two of them are on the road at Wake Forest and Florida State. They also host NC State before the month ends.
