Texas A&M Football: 5 overreactions from stressful Southwest Classic

3. Complacency on offense will kill you in the SEC
This team was on cruise control after putting up 14 in the first quarter. The Aggies didn’t start slow in this one, that is for sure, courtesy of freshman Jashaun Corbin and his 100 yard kick off return in the opening seconds of the game. Running back Trayveon Williams ran in the second score of the quarter and it looked like this one was already on ice for the Aggies — until it wasn’t.
Remember when we talked about how bad Arkansas was? This team made the Razorbacks look like they were a competent football team. Maybe they are figuring it out, but this still shouldn’t have been a close game. The Aggie offense was complacent and inconsistent after those first two scores. They did enough to win against the Razorbacks, but that won’t be enough against the likes of Kentucky and then LSU.
Simply put, this team needs to get their act together and quick. They have the talent on both sides of the ball. They have the ability to make a run and bounce back from two early losses against two really good teams. The rest of the stretch this season is winnable, but the way they played against Arkansas will not produce a winning record in 2018.
