West Virginia football stayed undefeated Saturday beating Texas Tech on the road. What five players stood out and earned Blitz Stickers?

Dana Holgorsen’s offense looked unstoppable Saturday against Texas Tech on the road – in the first quarter, at least. The Mountaineers lit up the Red Raiders defense for 28 first-quarter points behind three Will Grier touchdown passes.

They pushed that total to 35 by the half, and defensive coordinator Tony Gibson’s defense held the high-powered Tech attack to only 10 points. Things would drastically change in the second half, but the ‘Eers did just enough early to be able to hold on.

The Mountaineers dealt with a Texas Tech quarterback change well at first, forcing a late-half interception and two punts on his first three drives, but struggled to contain him once he got comfortable.

Leaving Lubbock, Texas, with a victory was West Virginia’s goal. And they achieved that. But ultimately, a handful of players stepped up in a way that delivered the game to the Mountaineers.
