With Week 5 in the books, the playoff picture is becoming much more clear. This is how the College Football Playoff would look if the season ended today.

As it stands now, there are 12 college football teams that are still undefeated. While a few most would completely disregard as having a chance to make the College Football Playoff, some still have a reasonable chance.

Below is a list of college football’s undefeated teams (in no particular order…) who are in either in the top 25, or may reach the top 25 should their undefeated season continue:

  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Clemson
  4. Ohio State
  5. LSU
  6. Notre Dame
  7. Oklahoma
  8. UCF
  9. Kentucky
  10. USF
  11. Colorado
  12. Cincinnati
  13. NC State

Up to USF, every one of those teams has a solid chance to go undefeated and make the playoff. Sure, LSU, Georgia, and Alabama will not all end up undefeated at the end of the year. But it is possible we have more than four teams without losses by season’s end.

Clemson drops out of the projected top 4 after seeing how they performed at home against Syracuse. Yes, Trevor Lawrence did go out of the game with a head injury relatively early in the game. But overall, their performance was not that of a team that could win the national championship.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the projected College Football Playoff rankings.
