Arkansas football has gotten off to a slow start this season but the Razorbacks could turn everything around with a strong month of October.

Chad Morris’ start to his Arkansas football tenure hasn’t exactly been sparkling, but the first-year head coach knew things wouldn’t get fixed overnight.

After an opening win against Eastern Illinois, the Razorbacks have lost four straight games, two of which have come by single-digits. They weren’t able to beat Colorado State, losing by seven, and then held tough against a resurgent Texas A&M team, but lost by a touchdown there as well.

North Texas and Auburn weren’t as kind to the Razorbacks, beating them by a combined score of 78-20.

It’s time to move forward as the calendar turns to October. There are plenty of fixes to be made, but just one goal: win.

Arkansas needs to turn it around in October to make things possible, but will it?

5. Defense won’t allow a single 100-yard rusher

I know what you’re saying, “Alabama will surely have a 100-yard rusher against Arkansas.” While this would almost be a guarantee against most other opponents, Arkansas has been surprisingly solid against opponents’ run games this season and, let’s face it, Alabama has so many rushers capable of 100-yard games that they’ll be too busy splitting carries to hit that mark.

Originally, I was going to say Alabama would be the only team that records a 100-yard rusher, but that’s not quite bold enough.

This defense will find a way to shut down Najee Harris, or at least slow him down, better than it did Trayveon Williams of the Aggies. Scottie Phillips of Ole Miss is the other back to be worried about, but he’ll come up just short of the 100-yard mark.
