3. Cole Kelley takes over as No. 1 QB

At one point in time, Cole Kelley was projected as the clear No. 1 quarterback, but Ty Storey opened the season as the starter. He had a strong opener, completing 12-of-17 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns. It seemed as if Chad Morris made the right decision.

Storey was then just 5-of-13 against Colorado State with 36 yards and two interceptions while Kelley was 6-of-9 for 102 yards and two touchdowns. The roles had been reversed and Kelley took over against North Texas only to have the worst game of his young career.

In fact, the big sophomore passed for 185 yards, but had no touchdowns and four interceptions while completing just 16-of-35 passes. It was ugly.

Since then, Storey has gotten all the snaps, but Kelley deserves another chance as the junior starter is struggling again.

Kelley will take over once again as the starter in October and never look back. He showed promise as a freshman and he’ll flash some signs of a return to his former self. We will finally see the Razorbacks flash some quarterback talent.
