4. The defense will shut down Kansas State

Baylor Defense has been a work in progress in 2018 much like it was in 2017. While they have not been quite as bad to start this season as they were last year they have often struggled in limiting big plays. Baylor have given up explosive plays to every team that have played.

The Baylor defense is ranked 94 in defensive S&P+ which isn’t good considering that they finished 2017 ranked 111. They seemed to play better against Kansas than any other team they faced. That may say more about Kansas than Baylor honestly.

Luckily the other team in Kansas isn’t much better and they start off the October schedule for Baylor. Kansas State ranks 100 in offensive S&P+ below the aforementioned Jayhawks who only managed to score 7 points against this Baylor defense. I look for Baylor to play much better at home and to not allow an offensive touchdown to Kansas State.
