The 2018 college football season is blowing by in a hurry. Here are the five  main reasons to be excited for the Week 6 slate.

Week 6 of the college football season is upon us. The Thursday night slate in 2018 has been mediocre at best and Week 6 is no different.

On Friday, Georgia Tech travels to Louisville and you can watch the game on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. On Saturday, the noon block of games features Alabama, West Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State and the Red River Shootout between Oklahoma and Texas.

Other rivalry matchups on Oct. 6 are the Florida State Seminoles are on the road against the Miami Hurricanes at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. In that same time block, the Clemson Tigers are on the road at Wake Forest on ESPN, and LSU will head to Gainesville, Fla., to take on the Gators on CBS. LSU is playing great football while Florida is improving every week under Dan Mullen.

From 7 p.m. ET and on the night lineup isn’t bad, either. SMU heads to Orlando to face undefeated Central Florida, Kentucky is on the road to face Texas A&M. At 7:30 p.m. Auburn heads to Mississippi State to face the struggling Bulldogs. At 8 p.m., the primetime game on ABC is Notre Dame at Virginia Tech. The undefeated Irish are trying to stake themselves as a playoff caliber program in 2018.
