The Heisman Trophy race is heating up through the first month of the season and the Week 6 power rankings for the coveted award is taking shape.

The Heisman Trophy 2018 race continues to be exciting as the season progresses. The top quarterbacks in the country all have an argument for the top spot and the showdown in Happy Valley was at the forefront of the race.

As as the season heads into October there will be a some tough tests for our Heisman Trophy candidates. Matchups in each major conference between some of the top contenders will decide who will hoist up the trophy before bowl season starts.

Before we get into our top five rankings let’s look at our honorable mentions for this week.

Milton has led the Knights to an undefeated record this season. The offense has looked good in each of their four games and although the quality of competition hasn’t been the best he is still producing great numbers. He has 13 touchdowns and is averaging over 300 yards passing per game. If UCF stays undefeated he continues this pace he could see himself in New York for the ceremony.

Is Kentucky a contender in the SEC East? The offense lives and dies by the play of the talented running back and he had a pretty good game against South Carolina last week. He ran the ball 28 times for 99 yards and a score, while also catching a pass for 14 yards. The Wildcats are 5-0 and face Texas A&M on the road and a primetime matchup this week.

Now let’s go over our Heisman Trophy rankings after the Week 5 slate of games.
