Last weekend of college football featured some incredible games, but Week 6 lacks marquee matchups and has a rough night slate. You’re still going to watch it all, so here’s your binge watch guide.

After waiting through the first few weeks for a big primetime game with season changing plays, moments, and just an overall awesome football environment, we finally got one last weekend in Happy Valley. The Penn State-Ohio State game was awesome, and even though it didn’t live up to the high scoring shootout billing that it got, the late game drama and the whiteout crowd was more than enough to fill that hole we’d been missing early in the season.

While it would be awesome to continue the momentum we built up last week into this week with more big games between top teams, the schedule really just didn’t break that way this week. I don’t advise skipping any college football because the season is so short, but if there’s a night slate that is probably skippable this season, it’s this one. It isn’t awful, it’s just not super interesting.

That’s the best way to describe this whole week. There are some interesting matchups, so pretty decent depth, and some possible sleeper picks, but in general, it’s just not a super strong week. I usually advocate for a time in the day you can probably do something else in, and this weekend, I think that going to catch a nice dinner around 6:00 p.m. EST and getting home by like, 9ish would still let you see the end of the 7:00 p.m. games, and then you can go to sleep early, because the night-cap is garbage. Let’s call this Self-care Saturday.

Like usual, before we jump into my picks for the best games to watch this week, we’ll take a look back at my picks last week, and how many of them were correct in predicting interesting games. After three straight pretty solid weeks, this past performance was, well, discouraging. I hit on seven of my 13 picks, or roughly 54 percent. While it’s above my goal of 50 percent, it’s a disappointing outcome, and it drops my season average to 63 percent. Hopefully, this week is a better one for good games!
