Can Ole Miss turn things around in October?
5. Defense holds opponents to under 20 points per game
Is this crazy to believe? The defense has allowed about 38 points per game this season, ranking 117th nationally but that’s come against Alabama, Texas Tech and LSU — all three offenses have been solid this season, to say the least.
The Rebels have a manageable month ahead and they’re going to step up on this side of the ball and surprise some people.
While they’ve allowed almost 40 per game through the first five weeks, they’re going to cut that average in half during the month of October, holding opponents to an average of just under 20 points per game — Auburn will be the only team to surpass 20 points.
Arkansas and UL-Monroe don’t have the firepower to keep up with Ole Miss’ offense and they’ll become one-dimensional, making life easy for the Rebels’ defense.
