4. Ole Miss gives Auburn a serious scare

No one is really expecting Ole Miss to pull off the upset of Auburn, but the Rebels are going to put a serious scare into the Tigers in Oxford. Playing on the road in the SEC is no joke and Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will be rocking. Ole Miss will have won their first two games of October against Arkansas and ULM and it’ll have plenty of momentum.

Sitting at 5-2 with a chance to reach six wins — despite not having bowl eligibility — will be huge for this young squad through the month of October.

Unfortunately, that scare won’t be quite enough to pull off the upset, but the game will be decided by a single score. Ole Miss will hold the lead through three quarters but Jarrett Stidham will put the team on his back and lead a barrage of big throws late down the field.

Ole Miss will look at this as a confidence-booster despite the loss, losing to Auburn 27-20 and heading into the month of November with a new outlook.

This team is gaining momentum.
