October will be telling for Texas A&M football. With two out of the three games on the road, this is a big time test for Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies.
Texas A&M is undergoing a huge makeover with Jimbo Fisher taking over as head coach in the offseason, replacing the majority of the staff as he moved into College Station. This is now his team, whether they are his recruits or not, and the Aggies have really bought into his vision for the program.
He has taught them to throw their heart and soul into the game, every single down. He has taught them to focus on the basics before you try to get fancy. Most of all, he has taught them to actually play as a team instead of focusing on standing out on your own.
How will October treat the Aggies? Let’s talk bold predictions for October, ladies and gentlemen.
5. Jhamon Ausbon’s injury could be blessing in disguise
While Texas A&M’s receiving corps is comprising of mostly young guys, a few stars have emerged among them. Sophomore Jhamon Ausbon was one of those guys, but now that has to change. Ausbon sustained a foot injury against Arkansas, breaking a small bone on the side of his foot.
It is the same injury that DE Michael Clemons suffered and he has been out for five weeks so far. Now, with that sidelining him- someone has to step up and fast. Especially due to the fact that Ausbon and QB Kellen Mond attended the same high school and as a result already have an established chemistry that will be hard to replace.

My bold prediction? Look to get a heavy dose of Hezekiah Jones, Jalen Preston and/or Roshauud Paul in the coming weeks. The Aggies would be smart to get freshman Jalen Preston going as he is one of the most dynamic players to find his way into College Station in quite a while.
Whoever steps up and gets playing time will actually be blessed by the sad story that is Ausbon’s injury.
