Ohio State Football: 5 bold predictions for October 2018
Ohio State football looks like the biggest threat to dethrone Alabama this season but will the Buckeyes roll through their soft October schedule?
Has there been a team not named Alabama that has been as impressive as Ohio State this season? Probably not. The Buckeyes have dominated just about everyone in their path this season, with the exception of Penn State, but winning comfortably in Happy Valley just doesn’t happen, especially with a Big Ten East title up for grabs.
Urban Meyer is back on the sidelines and Ohio State is flying high.
The Buckeyes welcome Indiana to Columbus for a Week 6 matchup that should be nothing more than a formality. The next three games to close out October should be sure wins, but what exactly will transpire before the calendar hits November?
Ohio State is red-hot, but will that continue throughout October?
5. Chase Young has a big month
Former five-star recruit Chase Young has big shoes to fill with Nick Bosa out. Replacing the star defensive end won’t be an easy task, but he has what it takes to be successful at defensive end.
Without Bosa, the talented sophomore has had a big impact on the defensive line. He’s already been a menace for opposing linemen and that’ll continue through October.
Young is coming off a two-sack performance against Penn State, and he’s just getting started.
Through five games, Young has 12 tackles, four sacks and three pass deflections. He’s been dominant at defensive end and Purdue, Indiana and Minnesota will soon see what everyone has been raving about.
Young is going to surpass the four sacks he recorded through five games in the month of October with seven tackles for loss.
